Joaquín is an award-winning creative and mixed-media director co-founder of Dedo Ciego Studio&#38;nbsp;based in Barcelona. His craft work, focused on moving image, has been recognized by Stashmedia, SXSW, Laus Awards, Vimeo Staff Picks,   Motionographer, Art of the Title and Ciclope among others.&#38;nbsp;He collaborates with local and international brands, agencies, festivals, record labels, tv networks and film production companies.

Graduated in Graphic Design from the Visual Communication School PRO DISEÑO (Caracas, Venezuela). After nearly a decade working in editorial design, Joaquín moved to Barcelona in 2001 where founded and directed (for more than 10 years) NO-DOMAIN, the awarded studio that brought a new organic voice to the motion graphics landscape of that time.
In 2013 received the Gràffica Award and started in 2016&#38;nbsp;his current studio&#38;nbsp;DEDO CIEGO,&#38;nbsp;together with art director Ana Gale, obtaining a golden LAUS prize for their first commisioned video work.

Joaquín also has been passionately involved in live music visuals for 20 years, a field that has constantly fed his visual explorations. His visual work dedicated to music has been showcased in festivals such as Sonar, Unsound, Mapping, L.E.V., MiRA and cultural institutions like Xcèntric CCCB , MUSAC, MIS São Paulo among others.&#38;nbsp;
He plays electronic music, under the name Pola Tog.

 Description
The Catalonian Television TV3 (3CAT) commissioned us the visual identity for its new cultural program called NERVI (meaning “nerve”).

For this project we explored an organic and polyrhythmic visual system that would reflect the diversity and vitality of the program as a colourfully living ecosystem.

We created a wide range of pieces: multiple variations of logo design, animated isotypes, opening, dividers, agenda, lower thirds, doodles system and also printed out collages for the set design.

 Description
It was an amazing experience animating the visuals for “Some Might Say” on OASIS’ 2025 Tour, a project directed by Chris Curtis.A true pleasure to bring Mia Angioy’s artwork to life for such a massive canvas.&#38;nbsp;Big thanks to the warm team Chris, Mia, and Pippa&#38;nbsp; for inviting me to collaborate on this multitalented collage project.&#38;nbsp;

 Description
Opening titles for “TERENCI, La fabulación Infinita”, a documentary series about Terenci Moix, “one of the most relevant and popular figures in literature and television in Spain in the second half of the 20th century”.

In this piece, made frame by frame, we have explored new processes of analog and digital artisanal animation. It was an authentic journey to compose this mixed-media puzzle around the character of this multifaceted writer.

 Description

We were asked to create the TV opening for Davis Cup 2022.Our approach was to use the sound base of tennis to build a succession of images, real and processed, mixed rhythmically with graphics that convey the emotion of a tennis match.Graphics and types were animated analogically frame by frame.

 Description

People have been celebrating the approach of winter’s end since the dawn of time. It’s a faraway promise of spring, rebirth and re-awakening of nature. It’s the winter solstice.OFFF and the City Hall of Barcelona commissioned us a piece for SOLSTICI, street audio visual installation at Barcelona city centre interpreting the winter solstice under the prism of digital arts. The installation, compound of five audio visual pieces by five invited artists, was part of the FESTIVAL DE NADAL organised by the city of Barcelona and exhibited at Plaça Universidad for two weeks.
